This is real now. On October 3, 2023, we will start our off-road, camping, big dual-sport motorcycle adventure crossing the entire State of Oregon from North to South. Today, my fully packed motorcycle, with new tries and new oil, was picked up and is on its way to Portland. I will fly into Portland on October 3, 2023, to meet Jason and Chuck to begin the ride.
Riding the Backcountry Discovery Routes (BDRs) on a big BMW R1200GS Adventure motorcycle is always a challenging undertaking.
The unexpected terrain (sand, mud, gravel), unknown elevations, unknown climbs or descents, unknown water crossings, unknown weather (hail, snow, sleet, rain, wind, dust) ... always seems to lead to spectacular scenery and a test of one's abilities as a rider. Endurance, patience, strength, wit, resourcefulness ... all seem to always be tested on these trips.
The excitement is beginning to build : )
